I feel like there is no greater proof that I'm getting old than the fact that I and half my friends have gotten too lazy to come up with cutesy away messages, and just go with "I am away from my computer right now" a good 75% of the time. |

So I decided to read some of Scott's old livejournal entries because I'm bored and the forum sucks today and he's the only one of you fucks who still updates regularly. So I'm looking at one of his super happy fun time WHEEE I TOOK PICTUUUUURES posts and he's wearing this bandana and I'm like jesus is this a thing we're doing now? Then I scrolled down to the bottom and I totally already made fun of him for it back in January.
So I was pretty on the ball. |

So I went to pull my work clothes out of the washing machine, but I couldn't find the Downey ball anywhere. Turns out? Damn thing had wormed its way up my pant leg.
. . . just one more instance in which I can claim that _____ "accidentally" got into my pants. |

| I've got a really good heart, I just can't catch a break. |
[Aug. 7th, 2007|10:46 pm] |
I really should be writing, but of course I'm not. I swear, for someone who wants to make a career from this shit I'm sure not interested.
ANYWAY, quick poll of those of you who know what I look like (or don't, I don't care that much): who thinks I should make my hair red again? |

So I'm in Charleston. No job yet. I was going to go to Michigan but decided to be an adult for fucking once.
Unpacking all of my shit for the first time since. . .Roanoke, I think, is odd. It turns out I have a lot of scented candles. If I meet a boy who lets me light them all and doesn't get a headache I think I'll marry him. |

I've decided to proclaim Victoria Beckham (a.k.a Posh Spice, or "Vicki B"as I like to call her) is my new and official Celebrity Role Model.
Not time to talk. Need to get a spray tan. |

ENGGGGHHHHH the internet is boring.
It was boring last night. It's still boring.
P-boi is boring. LJ is boring. TWOP is boring.
BORED.
BORING.
BORED BORED BORED.
I hate days like this. The internet is an endless expanse of information, yet there's nowhere for me to go. It's the intellectual equivalent of standing in front of a full refrigerator and complaining that you can't find anything to eat.
On that note. . .March has been terrible. I've fallen off the wagon in regards to fast food and not drinking pop. Multiple times. And I feel gross and it's a waste of money but I keep doing it. So not only am I desperately bored and unable to concentrate on my job for more than 3 minutes at a stretch. . .but my resolve is also in the toilet.
BOOOOOORRRRRRRREEEEEEDDDDD. |

| BORING ASS WORK POST |
[Mar. 27th, 2007|06:43 pm] |
So I'm more or less being kicked out of my department. They're moving most of the e-mail volume to our Pensacola office, and forcing 2/3 of our team to move to coporate. They said I was chosen because of "[my] particular skill set" but since, of the skills required in corporate, I have. . .none, I would assume that actually means "you have no senority, suck it." It comes with a nice big pay raise, which means I can at least stop freaking out about money and worrying that I would have to pick up a second job in lieu of going back to school.
Still. . .meh.
The only immediate upside is that, with the knowledge that I'm out of here in two weeks goes any incentive I had to actually ANSWER e-mails. So I'm more or less just dicking around online.
I have checked my friends page approximately 85 times today.
In other news I may get to travel later this year and that is AWESOME.
In other other news Mike Fireball has decided he's too good for his internet handle and that is LESS AWESOME. |

Ice Cube is amazing. First NWA, and now a movie that is alternately a rip off of "The Money Pit" and a treatise on how black people hate nature. |

| Fucking finally! |
[Mar. 24th, 2007|12:50 pm] |
It took long enough, but I can finally see livejournal at work again! I can now get back to obsessively keeping tabs on all of you.
Also, in honor of the They Might Be Giants song stuck in my head, I would like to point out that Someone Keeps Moving My Chair. |

I just spent the last hour emptying out my Yahoo e-mail, which I don't think I've checked since last October. It's now completely empty for the first time since. . .2005? Maybe? It was hard to sort of cut the cord and force myself to not keep every feedback e-mail anyone ever sent me.
Doing this has shown me that a LOT of people enjoyed my Labyrinth article. But like, without irony. They thought I was being serious. I'm going to be thinking about this fact for a long time.
My e-mail shenanigans are fascinating to you, I'm sure. |

I put on my leather coat for the first time this fall/winter. It smells like a wonderful combination of perfume, smoke, and nostalgia.
So I decided to do the NaNoWriMo thing. Haven't accomplished much yet, like a page. But on the 1st of November my priority was organizing my new recipe folder, which filled me with happy. I'll try to write some tonight, though my priority (oddly) is to get home in time to see the Chevy Chase episode of Law & Order. It's really a pretty terrible month for me to attempt such an undertaking, what with my work schedule taking up all of my time already, plus holidy preparations. But if I figure if I make a dent then at least I can say I've finally made some good progress on the novel that's been kicking around in my head for like two years now.
If anyone still regularly reads this, don't give up on me. I've got no computer, no cell, and I live in a hobbit hole. I'm barely a functioning member of society at this point, but don't stop being my friend, okay? |

So if David Bowie starring in "The Prestige" as Nikola Tesla isn't reason to make a new Everlasting Party, I don't know what is.

Got my new glasses! They made me look nerrrrrdy. I loves it.
So I'm reading "Live From New York" and now I kind of want to write for Saturday Night Live. I wonder how you get that gig. Guess I'll drop Lorne Michaels an e-mail.
I went to Wal-Mart today. Which, okay, boo. BUT! I not only bought the special edition 3-D cover Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack, but I also picked up the Thanksgiving issue of Martha Stewart Living. Those who know me even a little bit know that this may have been my happiest trip to Wal-Mart in the history of ever.
. . .WAIT. I take that back. Happiest trip to Wal-Mart was when I found the shirt that had an orca whale on it and just said "West Virginia" underneath. But TNBC and Martha is a damn close second. |

A motherfucking scrapbooking buddy.

So I've narrowed my Halloween costume ideas down to:
-Pippi Longstocking -Lydia Deets
Pippi would take far more work, but Lydia would require a (temporary) hair color change, which is sure to cause MOM DRAMA.
Okay, anyone who reads this, I need feedback. If I were to start my own mini-site as an offshoot of P-boi, what would you like to see included in it? I've never really known what my niche was, so I have no idea what people who read and enjoy my work might want to see me do more of. For this reason, input is really critical. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know what you like, what works, what you would actively try and read, anything. If I made my own site it would be largely for personal fullfillment, but I know there are five or six people out there who actually enjoy reading my stuff, so your help is greatly appreciated. :)
Oh, and to anybody out there who might want to call me (Po and B, really) my phone is dead, and I'm not sure how long it will be before I can replace it, or if my number will change. Furthermore, I basically have no internet access at home anymore, so the odds of catching me online are pretty slim. Not sure how long that will last. So, if you'd like to get a hold of me, I suggest carrier pigeon. Or you could e-mail me for Aunt Martha's phone number. Whichever. |

Today has been a good today, thus far.
Waking up early makes me so happy, I don't know why I don't do it more often. Especially considering I sleep now on a pull out sofa that does a number on my already quite fragile back. So I got up about 8:30ish, hopped online to check my friends page (to which I've added so many communities and blog feeds that it's nearly unreadable at this point), threw my hair into a sloppy ponytail (oooh ponytail, how I've missed you these last few years) and headed out the door for my first trip to the eye doctor since something like 2004.
There is nothing like a cute young optometrist to brighten the spirit. Plus, he said I'm a good candidate for lasik surgery, which means I'm that much closer to wearing reading glasses from a chain around my neck. My plan for total sexy librarian domination is coming to fruition.
While I sat trying on new frames (painfully need, quite literally. One of my nose pieces fell off months ago and I've not bothered to replace it.) I could see the leaves outside falling in continuous waves to the increasingly crunchy ground. I was reminded once again how much I adore October, and how good for my soul the autumn is.
With an hour or so to kill before work I stopped by Headquarters to visit my mommy and take her out to lunch. Unfortunately she was swamped with work after spending five days at the pumpkin festival hawking her wares. She did quite well overall, but most of you should know that you're getting Sammi Sauce and Sammi Sauce-related products for Christmas this year.
Sans mother, I decided to treat myself and get Japanese take out for the first time in more than a year and OH GOD was that the right choice in every possible way. Though I do desperately miss the days of $7.00 Tokyo Express in Roanoke, I can deal with $13.00 Fusion take out if it means I get enough to fill my belly for two meals, plus the opportunity to meet an adorable Japanese waitress named Kiki. Still, they could stand to be less stingy with my yum-yum sauce.
I'm updating this week for P-boi and it will either be amazing or drop like a stone. Stay tuned. |
